Survivor Series Showdown is an Americanprofessional wrestlingtelevision program that was produced by theWorld Wrestling Federation (WWF). Five separate specials aired on theUSA Network, one week prior to that year's respectiveSurvivor Series.

During this period of time, the WWF regularly ran specials to promote theirpay-per-view events. Similar to this series,March to WrestleMania ran the week prior to that year'sWrestleMania andSummerSlam Spectacular prior toSummerSlam.

The 1989 edition ofSurvivor Series Showdown aired on theUSA Network on November 12, 1989 (taped November 1, 1989) from theKansas Coliseum inWichita, Kansas.[2] This episode aired as a special edition ofWWF Prime Time Wrestling.[3]

In the opening matchTito Santana defeatedBig Boss Man afterDusty Rhodes got Boss Man's night stick and attacked him with it.

The next match sawMr. Perfect pinBushwacker Butch with the "Perfect Plex". Following the match,The Bushwhackers hitting a "Battering Ram" and double clothesline on Perfect andThe Genius, clearing them from the ring.

The third match sawRandy Savage defeatingHercules, after hitting him withSensational Sheri's purse.

In the next match, althoughThe Ultimate Warrior was theWWF Intercontinental Champion at the time of the event, his match againstTully Blanchard was a non-title match. The match saw the Warrior win viadisqualification afterArn Anderson interfered. Following the match, a brawl broke out with Warrior,Jim Neidhart,Shawn Michaels, andMarty Jannetty against Blanchard, Anderson,Haku, andAndré the Giant. The match would be Blanchard's last in the WWF.

The final match sawTed DiBiase pinSmash following interference byZeus. Following the match, DiBiase put Smash in the "Million Dollar Dream", which was broken up byAx.

The 1990 edition ofSurvivor Series Showdown aired on theUSA Network on November 18, 1990 (taped October 29, 1990) from theMarket Square Arena inIndianapolis, Indiana.[5]

The opening match sawSgt. Slaughter pinTito Santana afterGen. Adnan took Santana's feet out from under him while attempted asuplex.

The next match wasMarty Jannetty vsRick Martel. Janetty attempted a slingshot into the ring, however he hit his head which opened up an opportunity for Martel to get the pin.

The third match sawEarthquake defeatBig Boss Man viacountout.Bobby Heenan, who was an announcer during the event, left his position in order to hit Boss Man with a cheap shot behind the referees back. This caused Boss Man to chase Heenan backstage and ultimately be counted out.

NextBret Hart defeatedThe Honky Tonk Man, after Honky collided withJimmy Hart on the apron, allowing Bret to take advance and record apinfall victory.

The final match, for theWWF Intercontinental Championship, saw the championThe Texas Tornado, retain his championship via disqualification againstSmash, whenMr. Perfect,Ax, andCrush interfered. Following the match, they continued attacking Tornado untilLegion of Doom, andThe Ultimate Warrior came out and broke it up.

The 1991 edition ofSurvivor Series Showdown aired on theUSA Network on November 24, 1991 (taped November 11, 1991) from theWar Memorial Auditorium inUtica, New York.[8] The commentators during the event wereVince McMahon andBobby Heenan.[9]

This episode aired as a special edition ofWWF Prime Time Wrestling.[10]

In the opening matchBig Boss Man, defeatedEarthquake, whenJake Roberts,Typhoon, andIrwin R. Schyster interfered. Following the match,Legion of Doom, came out to save Boss Man.

During the next match, whenBlake Beverly missed a splash off the top rope,Bushwacker Luke took advantage and recorded thepinfall victory.

The third match sawRepo Man come out and hitVirgil with theMillion Dollar Championship, allowingTed DiBiase to pick up the victory and win back the championship. Following the match, DiBiase went to put a$100 bill in Virgil's mouth, howeverTito Santana came out and chased DiBiase to the back.

The 1992 edition ofSurvivor Series Showdown aired on theUSA Network on November 22, 1992 (taped October 26, 1992) from thePrairie Capital Convention Center inSpringfield, Illinois.[12] In November 2019 this event was added to theWWE Network as a hidden gem, which included an additional hour of footage covering the dark matches from the live event.[13]

This episode aired as a special edition ofWWF Prime Time Wrestling.[14]

The opening match sawTatanka, defeat theRepo Man viapinfall, following aSamoan drop.

Next,Marty Jannetty defeatedThe Brooklyn Brawler following a flying fistdrop.

During the third match,Kamala, pinned Red Tyler following a chop to the throat and a splash.

The fourth match sawEarthquake defeatIrwin R. Schyster viadisqualification, whenTed DiBiase attempted to trip Earthquake while going for the sit-down splash.

The next sawBig Boss Man defeatBarry Horowitz with a "Sidewalk Slam".

The 1993 edition ofSurvivor Series Showdown aired on theUSA Network on November 21, 1993. It was taped over the course of two days; the first two matches on November 8, 1993 fromFernwood Resort inBushkill, Pennsylvania[17] and the last two matches on November 10, 1993 fromFarrell Hall inDelhi, New York.[18]

In November 2018, this edition ofSurvivor Series Showdown was uploaded to theWWE Network as a Hidden Gem.[19]

The first match sawDoink The Clown record apinfall victory onBastion Booger with a roll-up. Following the match, Doink put hot sauce on Booger's pizza, without him noticing, causing him to freak out upon eating the pizza.

The next match sawCrush defeatVirgil viasubmission with the "Cranium Crush".

Next,Irwin R. Schyster defeatedMarty Jannetty following a"Write Off".

During the final match, for theWWF World Heavyweight Championship,Bret Hart had asharpshooter applied onYokozuna; however,Mr. Fuji hit Hart with the salt bucket behind the referees back. This causedOwen Hart to come out to save his brother; however, Bret wasdisqualified when Owen hit Yokozuna with the salt bucket.
