Lauren Valentine is the illegitimate daughter ofLeo Valentine who first arrived in the village with her motherValerie Holden and her brotherDanny on September 6, 2007.[1] Valerie dropped them off at the Valentine residence and demanded thatLeo looks after them while she sorts out her housing problems. Lauren & Danny were totally unknown toCalvin &Sasha, and it wasn't until she referred toLeo as 'Dad' that they realised Leo had been living a double life.
Lauren Valentine likes purple and many cute things but also had a rocky relationship with Sasha at first. Later, whenFletch tried to win Sasha back with a song he wrote, Lauren helped Fletch write a better one. Later, when Sasha laughed at the cheesyness of the song and kicked him out, Lauren showed signs of starting to accept her new family when the two began slagging off Fletch. WhenValerie decided to stay in Greece, Lauren and Danny were set to join her. However the two decided to stay in Hollyoaks. In recent episodes there have been hints of a relationship between her and new boy Newt. WhenNewt returns on the 28th December 2007 she receives a gift from him, her first gift from a boy.
At the beginning of 2008, Val returned fromGreece. Lauren wanted nothing to do with her, but Val persuaded Danny and Leo to give her another chance and let her stay in the Valentine house until she could get back on her feet. That same month, Lauren and Newt were accused of 'kidnapping' Tom. Before Tom went missing, he forgot to tellO.B. and Summer that he was going to return Newt's sketchbook, which Tom was staying long before Tom was actually reported missing. Newt and Lauren then gave him an Emo makeover.

Lauren was once attacked byNancy Hayton in the village because Nancy thought that Lauren had made a call to the police saying that Newt and Nancy were having a sexual relationship. ButJake Dean made the call because he was jealous. Nancy had been helping Newt with school work because he has Dyslexia.
Lauren plotted revenge againstElliot Bevan when he broke his promise to help them with their studies because he wanted to seeSarah Barnes. Lauren overheard Elliot talking about his father, and along with a reluctant Newt, contacted him through an Internet message board and convinced him to meet them in the woods. Elliot expected to meet his father, and suffered a nervous breakdown when no one arrived. Elliot disappeared for several days and the guilt-ridden teens feared the worst. Their nightmare nearly came true when they discovered a body, only for the corpse to be identified asSean Kennedy. When Elliot returned, Newt told him what had happened, and Elliot forced them to tell their parents.

After Lauren and Newt used her, Anita began to fancy Newt and eventually they started going out.
In March and April 2009, Lauren began claiming she was being bullied because she was jealous of Newt and Anita. She put her head in a sink full of water in the toilets, walked out and claimed that Anita was bullying her. Newt, taking Lauren's word for it, then split up with Anita and told her never to speak to him again and began hanging around with Lauren again.
In April 2009, Anita having confronted and recorded Lauren, trying to get a confession about the lies, was pushed against a wall by her and threatened. Lauren told Anita that she hated her and would "destroy her" until Gaz appeared and told Lauren where to go.
