TheRacing Bulls VCARB 02 is aFormula One car constructed byRacing Bulls that is competing in the2025 Formula One World Championship. The car is being driven byYuki Tsunoda andIsack Hadjar,[2] withLiam Lawson (who drove 11 races for the team in 2023 and 2024) later returning to replace Tsunoda from the2025 Japanese Grand Prix after being demoted from the mainRed Bull outfit after the first two rounds of the 2025 season (the Australian Grand Prix and the Chinese Grand Prix).[3] The VCARB 02, which is powered by theHonda RBPTH003 power unit, is the last Racing Bulls car to be powered byHonda RBPT-badged engines; from the2026 season, Racing Bulls and its sister team Red Bull Racing will utiliseRed Bull Powertrains Ford engines.[4]

Background

Livery

The livery was unveiled on 18 February 2025 during the F1 75 Live event atThe O2 Arena alongside with the other teams. Compared to the previous season, the livery was drastically changed into a solid white paint with a smaller blue charging bull patterns on the rear of the car.[5] The livery was positively received as it was voted by fans as "a fan favourite livery" and mimicking the 2021White Bull livery used on theRed Bull RB16B.

InMiami, the cars ran in a special livery inspired by the Red Bull Summer Edition white peach flavour, with the wheel covers representing the top of the can. A graffiti livery was used during theBritish Grand Prix.

General Design and Development Philosophy

Under the leadership of Technical Director James Key, the C45 was developed with both evolutionary and revolutionary changes from its predecessor, the C44. Its design includes a completely revised aero package, an improved cooling system, and new front and rear suspension geometries.[6]

Aerodynamic Innovations and Chassis Details

The new aero package features a more aggressive front wing and reshaped sidepods. It also includes re-engineered floor edges to better exploit ground effect, diffuser enhancements, and structures that provide a more consistent load distribution. Furthermore, updates made for races in China and Spain strengthened the floor and diffuser to optimize airflow underneath the car.[7]

Suspension and Mechanical Set-up The C45 retains a pull-rod system for both the front and rear suspension, but the geometries have been rearranged to increase the ground effect in high-speed corners. This allows the car to run closer to the ground while generating more downforce.[6]

Cooling and Sidepod Design The cooling layout was completely redesigned to ensure more efficient airflow management. The height of the sidepod's top surfaces was optimized to improve the flow of air to the engine and diffuser.[8]
