Sovite (orsövite) is the coarse-grained variety (orfacies) ofcarbonatite, anintrusive,igneous rock. The fine-grained variety of carbonatite is known asalvikite.[1] The two varieties are distinguished by minor andtrace element compositions.[2] Sovite is often a medium-to-coarse-grainedcalcite rock with variable accessoryamphibole,biotite,pyrite,pyrochlore andfluorite.[3]
