In May 2011, a 14-meter monument was installed on the outskirts of the city, claiming that Shpola is the geographical center of Ukraine.[1][2] It hosts the administration ofShpola urban hromada, one of thehromadas of Ukraine.[3] It had a population of16,323 (2022 estimate).[4]
