Satellite radio system (also:satellite system) is – according toarticle 1.111 of theInternational Telecommunication Union's (ITU)ITU Radio Regulations (RR)[1] – defined as «Aspace system using one or more artificial earthsatellites

Eachsystem shall be classified by theservice in which it operates permanently or temporarily.
