Rock and Roll Heart is the seventh solostudio album by American rock musicianLou Reed, released in November 1976. It was his first album forArista Records after recordmogulClive Davis reportedly rescued him frombankruptcy. "A Sheltered Life" dates back to 1967, whenthe Velvet Underground recorded a demo of it (available on 1995'sPeel Slowly and See). The Velvet Underground also performed "Follow the Leader", and a live recording of it was released onThe Quine Tapes (2001).
