Rita Barcelo y Pages (20 April 1843 - 14 May 1904) was theSpanish foundress of theAugustinian Sisters of Our Lady of Consolation. She was the sister ofConsuelo Barcelo, who was the cofounder of the community. A beatification process has been opened.[1][2]
After Mother Consuelo was given the title of aVenerable in December 2012, theCongregation for the Causes of Saints announced already a close opening for the process of Mother Rita. Her cause for beatification was proposed by theAugustinians and of the Congregation of the Augustinian Sisters. She is regarded aServant of God.
