Qingyuan Maglev Tourist Line is a medium-low speedmaglev line inQingyuan,Guangdong province, China.[1][2][3][4]

The line operates at speeds up to 120 km/h (75 mph).[5] The first phase is 8.1 km (5.0 mi) with 3 stations and a site reserved for a fourth station.[6] The first phase connects theYinzhan railway station on theGuangzhou–Qingyuan intercity railway with the QingyuanChimelong Theme Park.[7] In the long-term, the line will be 38.5 km (23.9 mi).[8]

History

The first train of Qingyuan Maglev rolled off the assembly line in the train's depot in December 2022,[9] and starts test run on March 23, 2023.[10] All track-laying work for the line completed on August 10, 2022.[11]

On September 28, 2023, the line has entered the no-load test operation stage.[12] The line's trial operation was briefly open to the public from February 5 to 6, 2024.[13]

Starting 25 January 2025, the line has opened to the public, to serve the newly-opened QingyuanChimelong, which opened on the same day.[14]

Operations

Starting from February 1, 2025, the Qingyuan Maglev operating hours will be 9:30-19:30, with a total of 3 trains on the line, with an operating interval of 12-20 minutes.[15]The full fare of the Qingyuan Maglev is¥15, with ¥5 for the length between theMaglev Yinzhan station and theButterfly Bay station, and ¥10 for the length between theButterfly Bay station and theMaglev Chimelong station. Passengers can use single-trip tickets, QR codes, day-trip tickets, and welfare tickets for children and students. Each adult can bring one child under 1.3 m (4 ft 3 in) in height to ride for free, but children under 1.3 m (4 ft 3 in) in height are not allowed to ride alone.[16]
