Peter Pau Tak-Hei (Chinese:鮑德熹, born 1952) is aHong Kongcinematographer andfilm director, best known towestern audiences as for his work onCrouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, for which he won theAcademy Award for Best Cinematography in 2000. One of Hong Kong's premier cinematographers, he has collaborated with directorsJohn Woo,Ronny Yu,Ang Lee,Tsui Hark, andWong Kar-wai.[1]

Pau is a member of the Hong Kong Society of Cinematographers. Theasteroid34420 Peterpau was named in his honour in early 2006. His older sister isHong Kong Film Awards best actress winnerPaw Hee-Ching.[1]
