Career

She first became known as a teenager for her main role inChris Kraus' 2010 filmPoll. Her breakthrough came in 2016, when she starred inFrançois Ozon'sFrantz, for which she won theMarcello Mastroianni Award for Best Young Performer at the73rd Venice International Film Festival. In 2018, Beer starred inFlorian Henckel von Donnersmarck'sNever Look Away, which was nominated forBest Foreign Language Film at the91st Academy Awards.

In the following years she became internationally known for her performances inChristian Petzold's films, starting withTransit (2018). For 2020'sUndine Beer won theSilver Bear for Best Actress at the70th Berlin International Film Festival,[2] alongside theEuropean Film Award for Best Actress. She also starred 2023'sAfire, which won theSilver Bear Grand Jury Prize at the73rd Berlin International Film Festival.
