Paeon [pronunciation? ] orPaion (Ancient Greek : Παίων, gen.: Παίονος), inGreek mythology , was anElean prince as son of KingEndymion , and brother ofEpeius ,Aetolus ,Eurycyda [ 1] and possiblyNaxos .[ 2] From him, the district ofPaeonia , on theAxius river inMacedonia , was believed to have derived its name.[ 3]
