NASCAR on The CW is the branding used for broadcasts ofNASCAR Xfinity Series races onThe CW.NASCAR Productions produces the broadcasts in partnership withCW Sports. The network will broadcast the entireNASCAR Xfinity Series season through 2031. The CW also broadcast the Xfinity Series playoff races in 2024, along with regular season finale atBristol Motor Speedway, in collaboration withNBC Sports.
On July 28, 2023, NASCAR announced thatCW Sports would gain the TV broadcast rights to the Xfinity Series starting in the next TV contract which would begin in 2025. Unlike the previous 2015 to 2024 TV contract, where Fox and NBC shared the TV rights, The CW would broadcast the full season for the series.NASCAR Productions will produce the broadcasts in-house from its new studio inConcord, North Carolina.[1]
On April 11, 2024, NASCAR announced that The CW would air the final eight races of the2024 NASCAR Xfinity Series season under a sublicense agreement fromNBC Sports. The races would remain produced by NBC Sports, usingNASCAR on NBC lap-by-lap commentatorRick Allen and analystsJeff Burton andSteve Letarte.[2]
The CW announced its 2025 coverage plans on January 14, 2025.Adam Alexander will be the lead lap-by-lap announcer, with color commentatorsJamie McMurray andParker Kligerman. Dillon Welch and Kim Coon will be featured as pit reporters. Carla Metts will hostNASCAR Countdown Live before every race.[3] In March 2025, it was revealed that select races will be called remotely from theNASCAR Productions studios inCharlotte, North Carolina. The studio being used is a purpose builtextended reality space.[4]
Despite The CW's NASCAR coverage generally receiving praise from viewers,[citation needed] the network has been criticised for not streaming NASCAR races on its app. Practice and qualifying, along with driver cams, are available through the app. The CW has also been criticised for allowing some stations to air local sporting events instead of NASCAR races.[5] In Detroit, due to conflicts with local sports, The CW announced that races would air on the app during conflicts.[citation needed] In Atlanta, races are moved toPeachtree Sports Network during conflicts.[6]
