Muslim community in Gujarat

TheMakwana are a Hindu and Muslim community of Gujarat.[citation needed]

The Makwana Muslims are now mainly small peasant proprietors found in northGujarat. According to their traditions, their ancestor Bapuji, the son of Harpal Makwana, converted toIslam. He founded to the principality of Lalpur-Mandva, inMahikantha. They areSunni Muslims and speakGujarati.[citation needed]

Some members have converted to Islam.[1][2]
