List of doughnut shops

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Krispy Kreme doughnuts being prepared on anautomated production line

Doughnut shops (also spelleddonut shops) specialize in the preparation and retail sales ofdoughnuts. A doughnut is a type offried doughpastry,deep-fried from a flour dough, and typically either ring-shaped or without a hole and often filled.

Many doughnut shops, such as U.S. and Canadian nationalchains, servecoffee as an accompaniment to doughnuts, thus they can also be classified ascoffee shops. However, a doughnut shop tends to be more casual and serve lower-end fare which also facilitatestake-out anddrive-through which is popular in those countries, compared to a coffee shop or cafe which provides moregourmet pastries and beverages such asespresso, latte, americano andcappuccino.[1][2]
