Lightspark is afree and open-sourceSWF player released under the terms of theGNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL) version 3.
Lightspark supports most ofActionScript 3.0 and has anNPAPIplug-in.[2] Though it has some support for it, it will fall back onGnash, a free SWF player, on ActionScript 1.0 and 2.0 (AVM1) code.
Lightspark supportsOpenGL-based rendering and uses OpenGL shaders (GLSL). The player is compatible withH.264Flash videos such as those onYouTube.
The Lightspark player is completelyportable.[3] It has been successfully built onUbuntu 11.04 (Natty Narwhal) onPowerPC,x86,ARM andAMD64 architectures.[4] Lightspark has aWin32 branch forMicrosoft Visual Studio[5] and introduced a Mozilla-compatible plug-in for Windows in version 0.5.3.
