Kosmos 2155 (Russian:Космос 2155 meaningCosmos 2155) is a RussianUS-KS missileearly warningsatellite which was launched in 1991 as part of theRussian Space Forces'Oko programme. The satellite is designed to identify missile launches usingoptical telescopes andinfrared sensors.[1]

Kosmos 2155 was launched fromSite 81/23 atBaikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.[1] AProton-K carrier rocket with aDM-2 upper stage was used to perform the launch, which took place at 17:51 UTC on 13 September 1991.[2][3] The launch successfully placed the satellite intogeostationary orbit. It subsequently received itsKosmos designation, and theinternational designator 1991-064A.[2] TheUnited States Space Command assigned it theSatellite Catalog Number 21702.[2][3]

It was operational for about 9 months.[3]
