KQPN (730AM) is acommercialradio stationlicensed toWest Memphis, Arkansas, and serving theMemphis metropolitan area. It is owned by F.W. Robbert Broadcasting and operated by Disruptor Radio, LLC. The station is branded as "AM 760 & AM 730 The Flame". It broadcasts aconservative talk radio format. KQPN currently simulcastsWENO fromNashville.

KQPN broadcasts at 1,000watts. BecauseAM 730 is a Canadian andMexicanclear channel frequency, KQPN uses adirectional antenna at all times to avoid interfering with other stations. Thetransmitter is off Gammon Road inMarion, Arkansas.[2]

History

The stationsigned on the air on December 1, 1961, asKSUD.[3][4]: 377  It playedTop 40 hits. By 1963, the music was a mix offolk,country, andSouthern gospel music.[5] It later switched formats to includeChristian radio programming andContemporary Christian music.[6]

In May 2005, KSUD flipped toall-sports, becoming anESPN RadioNetwork affiliate.[7] It changed itscall sign toKQPN later that year.[8] On August 4, 2008, ESPN programming moved to 680WSMB from KQPN, and KQPN took over the Fox Sports programming from WSMB the next day.[9]

KQPN became affiliated with Yahoo! Sports Radio on December 5, 2011, afterEntercom-owned 790WMC tookFox Sports Radio away from KQPN beginning on October 17, 2011. In 2016, Yahoo! Sports Radio switched its name toSB Nation Radio.
