KBET (790kHz "103.1FM & 790AM The Hu$tle") is acommercialAMradio stationlicensed toWinchester, Nevada, and broadcasting to theLas Vegas Valley. It airs anurban contemporaryformat. It is owned by Silver State Broadcasting LLC, is operated by Autopilot FM and has studios in the unincorporatedClark County community ofEnterprise..

KBET broadcasts with 1,000watts by day, reducing power to 300 watts at night to avoid interfering with other stations on790 AM. Thetransmitter is off Telephone Pole Road inWhitney, Nevada.[2] KBET is also heard onFM translator 103.1MHzK276GX inLas Vegas.[3]

History

On May 22, 2006; 18 years ago (2006-05-22), the station firstsigned on the air.[4] Diamond Broadcasting spent $2.5 million to acquire the station'sconstruction permit before it even was on the air.

On May 29, 2009, theLas Vegas Sun reported that the station had been sold to Silver State Communications LLC, and that the format would be changed toSports radio. KBET later aired aClassic Country format, using the slogan: "Country Legends 790."

KBET began broadcasting atalk format on April 19, 2012.[5] It carriednationally syndicatedconservative talk shows most of the day, mainly fromWestwood One. Shows includedChris Plante,Dan Bongino and "Red Eye Radio." In addition, "Armstrong & Getty" fromKSTESacramento was heard in morningdrive time.Alex Jones from theGenesis Communications Network aired early weekday and weekend mornings andGround Zero with Clyde Lewis was heard in late evenings. Most hours began with an update fromFox News Radio.

In 2024, the station wasoff the air for a period of time as Autopilot FM made plans to start an urban contemporary format on the signal. The main goal was to feed theFM translator, giving listeners in Las Vegas an FM station playinghip hop music and recent urban hits.
