Ipidacrine (Neiromidin) is a drug first synthesized by the National Research Center for Biologically Active Compounds in theRussian Federation. This compound is a modification of the older drugtacrine (Cognex).[1]
Ipidacrine is a reversibleacetylcholinesterase inhibitor used in memory disorders of different origins.[2][3][4]
Ipidacrine directly stimulates impulse transmission in thecentral nervous system and neuromuscular synapses by blocking membranepotassium channels. Ipidacrine enhances not onlycholine, but alsoadrenaline, serotonin, histamine, andoxytocin effects on smooth muscle.[5]
