Ilham Muzaffar oghlu Aliyev (Azerbaijani:İlham Müzəffər oğlu Əliyev; 5 May 1961 inGadabay – 19 August 1990 inAshaghy Eskipara) was amilitaryserviceman ofAzerbaijan Armed Forces who served during theFirst Nagorno-Karabakh War and was subsequently awarded the title ofNational Hero of Azerbaijan.[1]
Ilham Aliyev was born on 5 May 1961 inGadabay,Azerbaijan SSR. He completed hissecondary education in 1978. It was in 1980 he was drafted into themilitary service. In 1985, Aliyev was admitted toBryansk Special Secondary School.[2]
After the start of theFirst Nagorno Karabakh War, Aliyev was sent to theAskipara village of theQazakh District to defend the region from the offensive of Armenian troops. He was killed duringbattles for that village.[3] He was buried in Gadabay District. Aliyev was married and had a child.
