Histaminergic means "working on the histamine system", andhistaminic means "related tohistamine".[1]

Ahistaminergic agent (ordrug) is a chemical which functions to directly modulate the histamine system in the body or brain. Examples includehistamine receptor agonists andhistamine receptor antagonists (or antihistamines). Subdivisions of histamine antagonists includeH1 receptor antagonists,H2 receptor antagonists, andH3 receptor antagonists.[2]
