GyazMail[3] is anemail client formacOS,[4] developed and maintained by Japanese programmer Goichi Hirakawa.[5] It supports the POP3,[6] IMAP[7] and SMTP[8] protocols. Its handling of multiple email accounts[9][10] includes local mailboxes.[11]
Gyazmail is based on the native macOSCocoa[6][12] and written inObjective-C. For its search function, GyazMail uses theOnigurumaregular expression library,[12] which supports a variety ofcharacter encodings, which is especially relevant for Asian languages.
Version 1.0.1 was released in 2003.[13] Starting May 30, 2022, GyazMail ended support for Google Accounts due to Google's requirement of OAuth, which was cost prohibitive.[14]
