Firudin Shamoyev (Azerbaijani:Firudin Şamoyev) (February 7, 1962 inQazakh District,Azerbaijan – April 13, 1992 in Qazakh District, Azerbaijan) was theNational Hero of Azerbaijan, and the warrior of the Karabakh war.[1]
Firudin Shamoyev was born on 7 February 1962 to aKurdish family[2] in theQazakh District ofAzerbaijan. He graduated from secondary school inQazakh District. He was called up for military service in 1981 and completed his military service in 1983.[1]
Firudin Shamoyev took part in the defense ofBağanis Ayrum,Məzəm andQuşçu Ayrım villages of theQazakh District. He destroyed many Armenian forces and armored vehicles. Firudin was killed in the battles around the village ofQuşçu Ayrım on 13 April 1992.[1]
He was posthumously awarded the title of "National Hero of Azerbaijan" by Presidential Decree No. 833 dated 7 June 1992. He was buried in theMartyrs' Lane inQazakh District.[3][4]
