Finn Delany (born 12 August 1995) is a New Zealand-Irish professionalbasketball player forVeltex Shizuoka of theB.League. He playedcollege basketball for theSouthwest Baptist Bearcats.
Finn Delany first played for his hometown Nelson Giants in the2013 New Zealand NBL season when he was still at high school. He continued playing for the team until 2018 when he averaged 19.9 points, 7.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists on 57% field goal shooting[1] and was named the league's best forward, the league's best local forward/centre and to the All-Star Five.
In February 2019, Delany signed a contract with Serbian teamFMP for the rest of the 2018–19 season.[2][3][4] His best showing for the club came againstEuroLeague teamCrvena zvezda on 4 May 2019 when he had 18 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists on 89% field goal shooting.[5]
In July 2019, Delany joined theDallas Mavericks for the2019 NBA Summer League.[6] He averaged 6.3 points, 2 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 10 minutes per game.
Finn Delany has played for theNew Zealand Breakers of theAustralian NBL since 2015. In 2021 he averaged 16.2 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game while shooting 46% from the floor[7] and was consequently named to theAll-NBL Second Team.
On 12 July 2022, Delany signed withTelekom Baskets Bonn of the GermanBasketball Bundesliga and theBasketball Champions League.[8]
On 13 July 2023, Delany signed a two-year deal with the New Zealand Breakers.[9][10] His court time was limited in the2023–24 NBL season due to a calf injury.[11] He parted ways with the Breakers after one season.[12]
On 7 March 2024, Delany signed withBasket Zaragoza of theLiga ACB for the rest of the2023–24 season.[13]
On June 17, 2024, Delany signed withVeltex Shizuoka of theB.League.[14]
Delany was a member of theNew Zealand national team that won 4th place at the2017 FIBA Asia Cup inBeirut, Lebanon. Over six tournament games, he averaged 12.7 points, 7.0 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game.[15] He was aTall Blacks member who won the bronze medal at the2018 Commonwealth Games.[16]
In November 2017, 2018, and February 2019, Delany represented the Tall Blacks during the2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup qualifiers. Over nine qualifiers games, he averaged 7.2 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game.[17]

Delany is adual national of New Zealand and Ireland.[18]
