Emmanouil (Manolo) Karalis (Greek:Εμμανουήλ Καραλής, born 20 October 1999) is a Greekpole vaulter.[1] He is the current holder of the Greek national record. In March 2025, Karalis became the first Greek pole vaulter to win a gold medal at aEuropean Athletics Indoor Championship.[2]
Karalis won the silver medal at the2019 and2021 European Athletics U23 Championships, bronze medal at the2024 Summer Olympics and placed fourth at the2020 Summer Olympics. At the2025 European Athletics Indoor Championships, Karalis shared the gold medal withMenno Vloon.[2]
Since October 2021, Karalis has been a member of the athletics department ofOlympiacos CFP.[3]
He is the son of aGreek father fromPyrgos, and aUgandan mother. He has a twin sister, named Angeliki.[citation needed]
