Dobby, ordobbie, is a woven fabric produced on thedobby loom, characterised by small geometric patterns and extra texture in the cloth.[1] Thewarp andweft threads may be the same colour or different. Satin threads are particularly effective in this kind ofweave as their texture will highlight the pattern.[2][failed verification]

Dobby usually features a simple, repeated geometric pattern.[3]

Polo shirts are usually made with dobby.[1]Piqué fabrics are a type of dobby construction.
