Hittite language dictionary project

TheChicago Hittite Dictionary (CHD) (The Hittite Dictionary of the Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago) is a project at theUniversity of Chicago Oriental Institute to create a comprehensive dictionary of theHittite language. The project was founded byHans Gustav Güterbock andHarry Hoffner in 1975 and funded by theNational Endowment for the Humanities.[1] It is currently co-edited byTheo van den Hout[2] andPetra Goedegebuure.[3] Hoffner originally hoped that the project could be completed by 2000,[4] though as of 2005 it was expected to last until 2045.[5] It is one of several dictionary projects at the institute, including theChicago Assyrian Dictionary and theChicago Demotic Dictionary.
