Chao'an (Chinese:潮安;pinyin:Cháo'ān) is adistrict ofChaozhou City in easternGuangdong Province in Southern China. It wasChao'an County until June 2013, when it became a district of Chaozhou.[1] The former county was known as 'Haiyang' until 1914.
It has an area of 1,238.77 km2 (478.29 sq mi) and a population of 1,175,150 (2020 census).[2][3] It is under the jurisdiction ofChaozhouprefecture-level city.
