Cashel King Cormacs GAA is aGaelic Athletic Association club located in the town ofCashel,County Tipperary inIreland. They play their games in Leahy Park, on the Clonmel Road in Cashel. The club is named for the king-bishopCormac Mac Cárthaigh (d. 1138).[1]
Extensive work has been carried out in the last few years, with the addition of a new clubhouse and main stand the highlight.Notable games have been held here in the last few years and it has become the annual venue for both the County Senior Club Football Final and the Munster Colleges Senior Hurling Dr.Harty Cup Final.
CashelCamogie club won theAll-Ireland Senior Club Camogie Championship in2007[2] and2009.[3] They won further Munster senior club championships in2001,2002,2005 and2006. The sport was revived in 1971 after a team emerged from the Presentation Convent by Willie Prendergast, Sr Mary Brennan and Sr Maureen McGrath.[4] The school had a number of successful years, and won severalMunster and All-Ireland colleges' titles.[citation needed]
