Brittney Marie Hernandez[5] (neeKarbowski[kərˈbɔfski]; born June 26, 1986)[1] is an American voice actress who has voiced in a number of English-language versions of Japaneseanime series.

Karbowski was born inSugar Land, a suburb ofHouston and since 2004, she has voicedMikoto Misaka inA Certain Magical Index andA Certain Scientific Railgun,Migi inParasyte, Rimuru Tempest inThat Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, Lute inMonster Hunter Stories: Ride On, Sanae Dekomori inLove, Chunibyo & Other Delusions,Yuki Takeya inSchool-Live!, Nanachi inMade in Abyss, Zircon inLand of the Lustrous,Mikan Yuuki inTo Love Ru, Wendy Marvell inFairy Tail, Yamada inB Gata H Kei, Camie Utushimi inMy Hero Academia, andSaori Arisugawa inTribe Nine.

In addition to her voice acting career, Karbowski has starred in numerous films such asPuncture andThe Starving Games.

Early life

Karbowski was born on June 26, 1986, inSugar Land, Texas.[1][6] She graduatedKempner High School in 2004[5] and attendedUniversity of Houston briefly where she majored in theater.[7]

Karbowski started her acting career in theater productions such asLittle Shop of Horrors,Seussical, andPirates of Penzance in Houston, Texas.[citation needed] While playing Janet in a local stage production ofThe Rocky Horror Show, she was noticed by a director fromADV Films. Her start into the anime business occurred in 2004, when she was asked to be an extra in the seriesGantz.[8][9] By December 2006 she stated that Fuko fromGilgamesh was her favorite dub as she thought the character was "cute and wicked, but wicked in a good way".[7] She eventually received starring roles asHimeko Katagiri inPani Poni Dash and asAoba Tsuzaki inJinki: Extend through her work at ADV Films.[7][10] Karbowski started voicing forFunimation in 2007 with a starring role asMai inItsudatte My Santa!.[11] She also expanded her voice acting to other venues when she voiced her first video game character in 2007 as Pinkun inAkiba's Beat.[12] ADV Films ultimately ceased operations in 2008, and several properties were transferred to Funimation.[13] It was also during this time that she voiced the lead heroineAyu Tsukimiya inKanon after the title transfer had taken place.[14] Karbowski has since dubbed dozens of characters including both major and minor roles through Funimation.

Karbowski has also had roles in films such as Celie inUp & Down, Susie inPuncture and a backpack girl inThe Starving Games. She was slated to be a lead character Zax in the science fictionCode of Evil. Karbowski starred in the 2014 horror filmAtrocity.[15]

Personal life

Karbowski was briefly hospitalized with a broken neck in 2010 due to a car accident.[16]

She married Matthew Hernandez on October 11, 2013. They have two children.[3]
