Blaine (July 7, 1937 – February 5, 2012) was the name used byCanadian political cartoonist Blaine MacDonald.
Blaine was born inGlace Bay,Nova Scotia, and later relocated toHamilton,Ontario. His work was published inThe Hamilton Spectator.[1] He received theNational Cartoonist Society Editorial Cartoon Award for 1969.[2] In 1963 Blaine became the first cartoonist to win what became the internationally famousSalon of Cartoons, in Montreal.[3] He once presented a pencil sketch of PresidentLyndon B. Johnson to him at theWhite House.
Blaine died in Hamilton on February 5, 2012.[4]
