Adam Thomas (born 1 April 1992) is a New Zealand professionalfootballer who plays as adefender forEastern Suburbs. He represented New Zealand at the2012 Summer Olympics.[1]

Club career

During his early career, he represented New Zealand onU-17,U-20 andU-23 level. He becamecaptain ofWaikato FC at the age of 19.[2] ForAuckland City FC, he played in the first leg of the2011 OFC Champions League final.

Thomas joinedTeam Wellington in January 2013.[3] He transferred mid-season from Waikato FC where he had been stood down for giving them late notice of his intentions to move to Wellington.[4] Thomas missed six years of his career between 2013 and 2018 due to several injuries which required surgery.[5]

Reteurning to football withEastern Suburbs AFC, he contested the2020 OFC Champions League.[6]

On 15 February 2022, he signed forLeague of Ireland Premier Division clubShelbourne under new managerDamien Duff.[7] On 28 July 2022, Thomas signed forLeague of Ireland First Division sideGalway United until the end of the season.[8]
