NFL team season
The1960Los Angeles Rams season was the team's 23rd year with theNational Football League and the 15th season inLos Angeles. Under first-year head coachBob Waterfield, the team won four and lost seven with one tie, placing the Rams in sixth place in theWestern Conference, ahead of only the winlessexpansionDallas Cowboys. Their most notable win was an upset of theGreen Bay Packers atMilwaukee onNovember 20.[1][2] Four weeks later in the season finale, the Packers returned the favor in Los Angeles to win the Westernconference title.[3] It was also the first season in which the Rams would share the same venue as the upstartLos Angeles Chargers of theAmerican Football League (AFL) before the team would leave forSan Diego in1961. The Rams would not share the same venue with the Chargers until2020 when both teams would move intoSoFi Stadium in the suburb ofInglewood.
In the pre-season, the Rams played the Cowboys in rural northeasternOregon, atPendleton'srodeo grounds on Sunday,September 4.[4][5]
