Season Review: Fergus Greene

westernbulldogs.com.au reviews Fergus Greene's 2017 season.

The 19-year-old Greene arrived at the Club after being taken with the 70th pick in the 2016 NAB AFL Draft via the Bendigo Pioneers.

Greene’s first season at the Club was restricted by injury, although his competitiveness saw him recover to kick 11 goals in eight VFL games for Footscray.

Listed at 187cm and 70kg, Greene will benefit from another summer in the gym.

Stat that mattered:

Kicked three goals in his VFL debut in Round 4.

What they said:

“It was obviously a bit frustrating with a few injuries here and there. Overall I really enjoyed the experience and I’m really keen to get back next year.

“With the broken wrist I missed 8 weeks. I spent a lot of Saturday’s with Nick Stone and the rehab coordinators so that was challenging. I also had a few cracked ribs that kept me out later in the year.

“I did miss a fair chunk of footy this year that I want to make the most of next year and do everything I can to play my best footy.”

- Fergus Greene, September 2017
