Iron metal powder is a fire hazard. Unless known otherwise, all iron compounds should be regarded as toxic. Iron deficiency leads to anaemia. Excess iron in the body causes liver and kidney damage (haemochromatosis). Some iron compounds are suspected carcinogens.
