THE STORY OF THE GAME

Swansea City suffered FA Cup embarrassment as they were knocked out of the FA Cup in the third round to a bottom tier side.

It is the first time the Swans have been dumped out by a League Two side since making it to the Premier League as the Kassam Stadium side hit the Swans for three following Jefferson Montero's well-taken opener on 23 minutes.

The match as it unfolded

After Kyle Bartley slid in on Alex MacDonald to give Liam Sercombe the chance to level from the spot on the stroke of half-time, Kemar Roofe curled the hosts' second four minutes after the break before breaking for a well-taken third ten minutes later.

Bafe Gomis offered slender hope with 24 minutes to go, but Swansea did not deserve to level and only found humiliation having been outplayed for the majority of the match.

THE TEAM SHEETS

Alan Curtis made ten changes with Jack Cork the only survivor from the side that lost in the Premier League clash at Old Trafford, Jonjo Shelvey, Bafe Gomis and Franck Tabanou all given the chance to prove themselves amid speculation while there was a first start for young right-back Liam Shephard. Tabanou didn't last the hour as his lack of fitness and defensive awareness was shown up by replacement Stephen Kingsley while Matty Grimes also disappointed before being withdrawn for Mo Barrow.

THE GOALS

0-1 (Montero, 23mins):Montero is set away by Tabanou, ignoring the Frenchman's underlap to drive into the box himself, squaring to Emnes whose flick invited Montero to collect and flick a finish into the bottom corner.

1-1 (Sercombe penalty, 45mins): Nordfeldt saves well from Jake Wright but Swansea do not clear and as Alex MacDonald skips away Kyle Bartley rushes in and makes a ridiculously rash challenge on the ground that although suggests little contact is enough for Friend to give the penalty. Sercombe hits it down the middle but it's past Nordfelt.

2-1 (Roofe, 49mins): The hosts' top-scorer collects from Taylor, cuts inside and curls expertly into the far corner.

3-1 (Roofe, 59mins): Cork is barged out of the way at a Swansea corner, Maguire feeds Roofe and he counters all the way to the area, past Shephard and finishing past a weak attempt of a save from Nordfeldt.

3-2 (Gomis, 67mins): Swansea build-up sees Cork play a ball between defenders to Gomis wide of the area who opens body and finishes neatly.

THE INCIDENTS

Grimes was booked for a dive by Kevin Friend just outside the penalty area as he ran onto Shelvey's reverse pass which drew little complaint. There was claims of a dive as MacDonald as Bartley dived in rashly with Swansea failing to clear lines, a ridiculous rush of blood even if he appeared to jump the tackle. Amat picked up a silly booking for kicking Taylor while Tabanou followed him in the book soon after for a foul on goalscorer Roofe.

The biggest debate was in the build-up to Roofe's second and Oxford's third, Cork seemingly barged out of the way before the hosts break and finish. Outside the box and it would have been given.

Bafetimbi Gomis can't hide his frustration during the defeat

LOOK OUT FOR

Should Shephard have brought down Roofe as he raced away for the third? Big decision for the rookie to have to make as he was left isolated by teammates who should know better.

Montero's miss on 75 minutes after being played into a similar position as Gomis. Could well have gone down to win the penalty.
