College Admissions Calculator

How It Works
The tool uses U.S. News College Compass subscriber data to illustrate the GPA and SAT or ACT scores of students who were accepted, waitlisted or rejected at a particular school. It also shows the scores of students who are interested in, have applied to or have enrolled in a school. Try it with your reach schools, safety schools and target schools, and use the tool to switch between them. It’s one way to gauge your likelihood of admission compared with students who areapplying to the same college.
Standardized test scores and GPA are only part of your college application. These two data points alone paint an incomplete profile, but they give you an idea of how your stats compare with those of other students. Keep in mind that some schools have becometest-optional due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Use this tool to get an idea of your chances, but don’t let it sway whether you ultimately apply. Schools want to see your personality in your application, sopersonal essays, letters of recommendation and achievements are important. Other factors, like the school’s overall acceptance rate, what program you’re applying for and whether you’re an in-state student, go into admissions decisions as well.
Once you’ve found a few schools thatfeel like a good fit, visit the schools’ profile pages on usnews.com for information on tuition and financial aid, admissions data, student life and more.
