(Last updated 08/10/2021) These first two images were taken looking south on NM hwy. 469 in San Jon. There, Historic US 66 is now designated as Frontage Road 4118. I was surprised to see that its route marker was a wooden cutout (tap to view a larger version):
(last updated 6/22/2023) The geo-center of Texas is roughly between Brownwood and Brady; the nearest locale is the minuscule burg of Mercury. TodayUS 377 is the closest major highway passing near the point, and a roadside historical marker is posted just south of Mercury:
