QUEENS PARK Rangers could be on their way out of London after apounds 2.5million bid was launched last night to take the club to MiltonKeynes.
The Milton Keynes Stadium consortium wants the stricken West London club to play in its new stadium, which is due to be completed in 2003.
Consortium chief Pete Winkelman is confident his bid will besuccessful as QPR, relegated to Division Two, suffer even more financialhardship.
Chris Wright, the owner of Loftus Road plc, has set 5pm today asthe deadline for bids to buy the club. Wright, who also owns Chrysalisrecords, has ploughed millions of his own money into the club in a bidto keep it afloat.
Suggestions that QPR would merge with Wimbledon last month werequashed after a furious fan backlash.
But the Milton Keynes consortium are confident they have come upwith a plan to appease fans. The QPR name would be retained along withthe club's famous blue and white hooped strip.
There would also be supporter representation on the board.
Winkelman said: "We have real resources to put behind theclub. They are fast running out of solutions and we are the answer totheir problems."
