TheRainspout Music Festival continues Saturday and Sunday at the Yachats Commons, 441 Highway 101 North, featuring a variety of jazz, swing, blues and more.

We ended the line with a 2-inch cap with five 1/16-inch holes drilled around center to create a very narrowrainspout. Over a 20-foot drop, this created about an 18-inch area of rain centered on a 28-inch drain plug.

There was what looked like arainspout about ten feet down to his right and beyond, another embrasure.

Here, the wide and mighty Hudson has transformed into a wee little creek--Feldspar Brook in name, but as narrow as arainspout and as shallow as a birdbath.

I watch the common house sparrows who keep a nest above arainspout. They build rather ratty looking nests, but they seem to be determined and faithful little creatures.

I buried dread that way, my telephone calls and letters, and on the way I walked into a side yard and straightened a brick - for it was May - and chased a gartersnake into hisrainspout; and since it was morning and it was hot already I put the eggshell under a leather chair and thought of our trip to New Orleans and used the end of a broom to prop up a rosebush, the way we do, sweet Larry.

Yachats will welcome Oregon musicians, including many from Eugene, for the 2017Rainspout Music Festival this weekend.
