According to Economic Times, the purpose of the recall is to replace a faulty masterbrake cylinder fitted on the cars.

Nissan is investigating vehicles from the 2007 to 2008 model year that were affected by brake fluid leaks from the masterbrake cylinder. Around 440,000 vehicles are said to be under investigation.

In the worst case, a Warwick garage failed to fix 14 out of 26 faults on the car, including a leakingbrake cylinder.

"We made another change to the mounting of the masterbrake cylinder, which is now mounted to the front of the dash," says Woychowski.

Pressure testing on the plasticbrake cylinder has been successful at ten times the maximum working pressure.

According to a report Hino submitted to the Land, Infrastructure and Transport Ministry, the brake may cause the wheel section of the vehicles to heat up, posing the risk of a fire, due to a defective oilbrake cylinder.

As examples, he cited a container used for storing nuclear waste and abrake cylinder, both of which were used in numerical simulations and shown in color graphics depicting temperature, gradient, cooling rate or solidification time distribution on the casting surface or in various sections of a casting.

The models are being recalled because of the problems with its masterbrake cylinder seals.

A master cylinder holds fluid and oil flows from the cylinder through lines to thebrake cylinder. When pressure is applied to the brake pedal, the pressure increases and thebrake cylinder extends and presses the pads onto the drum surface or disk.
