Hossain encouraged freedom fighters at the training camps with his artworks during the Liberation War. He received Ekushey Padak and other prestigious awards for his outstanding contribution to the Language Movement.

Rashid Talukder, one of the most acclaimed photojournalists in the country, died on October 25 at the age of 72. As a war photographer in 1971, he took photographs that are considered to be major documents of the Liberation War.
