Third debate set between Ron DeSantis and Andrew Gillum
A third debate between Ron DeSantis and Andrew Gillum will be held in Tampa, according to CNN, joining the two events set for Orlando and Broward County.
A CNN debate between the gubernatorial candidates will take place Oct. 21 at 8 p.m. and will be moderated by CNN anchor Jake Tapper.
The CNN event was a sticking point between the Gillum and DeSantis campaigns, with the Gillum campaign saying there was a dispute over whether it would be a debate or town hall format.
The two campaigns have been sparring over other potential debates, with a Univision Miami event accepted by Gillum and a CBS Miami debate and Fox News event accepted by DeSantis.
The first gubernatorial debate will be held in Orlando on Tuesday.
The event, set for noon at The Alexis & Jim Pugh Theater at the Dr. Phillips Center, will be hosted by Orlando station Telemundo 31.
The other gubernatorial debate is set for Oct. 24 at Broward College, hosted by the nonprofit group Leadership Florida.
CNN will also host the second and last scheduled U.S. Senate debate on Oct. 16 between U.S. Sen.Bill Nelson and Gov.Rick Scott, also in Tampa.
