Techné: Research in Philosophy and Technology is a peer-reviewed forum that serves the need for sustained philosophical reflection on our technological world. Conference Theme:The Intimate Technological Revolution
Modern technology permeates every aspect of our lives: the technology nestles itself in us (for example through brain implants), between us (through social media like Facebook), knows more and more about us (via big data and techniques such as emotion recognition), and is continually learning to behave more like us (robots and software exhibit intelligent behaviour and can mimic emotions). We refer to this as the intimate technological revolution.

SIGs updates
SPT is developing a new initiative to encourage members to be more active and involved in the Society. This new initiative aims at creating Special Interest Groups, or SIGs. A SIG is a dedicated effort of one or two years on a specific goal. The goals of a SIG should be either:
– an internal SPT goal (e.g., reaching out to non-US-EU communities, creating a repository of teaching material)
– advancing a topic in philosophy of technology (e.g., a seminar series, a joint working group for philosophy of technology and another academic field)
