Passengers behaviour rules

Flight and air transportation safety, high quality of service are strategic goals and constant concern of Rossiya Airlines. It is impossible to achieve these goals without observing certain rules of behaviour developed on the basis of recommendations of international aviation organizations. In case of violation of these rules on board the aircraft, the management of Rossiya Airlines strictly adheres to the following policy:

  • not to leave any violation of onboard behaviour rules without consequences; 
  • to grant to the crew and ground personnel nesessary rights to prevent any violation of onboard passengers' behaviour rules;
  • to provide all the necessary assistance to law enforcement authorities in order to bring violators to justice and apply appropriate sanctions to them.

Passengers have the right to:

  • demand rending of all services provided by terms and conditions of the air carriage contract, as stated in the ticket form; 
  • address the crew and request protection in case of threat to their lives, health or personal dignity.

Passengers have to:

  • fulfil implicitly of captain's and crew member's requirements ; 
  • carefully observe air safety regulations, discipline and order; 
  • place hand baggage and personal belongings in the specially assigned places shown by flight attendants; 
  • follow the sanitary rules and anti-epidemic requirements on board the aircraft established in the Russian Federation, as well as the sanitary and quarantine requirements established at airports of departure, destination or transit.

Passengers are prohibited to: 

  • create situations that threat flight safety, passenger's or the crew member's life ; 
  • drink alcohol the offered on board of the aircraft. Alcoholic drinks are not served to passengers under 18 years old. This rule is also applicable when a minor is travelling with his/her parents. 
  • use any survival equipment without appropriate crew’s instructions; 
  • use electronic devices or communication facilities during the aircraft taxiing, take-off and landing;
  • damage property owned by the aviation enterprise or take it away from the aircraft or the territory of the airport; 
  • smoke (electronic cigarettes included) on board on all international and domestic flights; 
  • open sealed plastic bags, containing liquids bought in duty-free shops at the airport or on board until the flight is over; 
  • violate the sanitary rules and anti-epidemic requirements on board established in the Russian Federation.

In case of violation of above mentioned requirements, international and national aviation laws, as well as the Enterprise's Passengers Behaviour Rules Rossiya Airlines reserves the right to apply the following sanctions:

  • to stop serving with alcoholic beverages or temporary confiscate the passenger’s alcoholic drinks (including those purchased at duty-free stores of the airport or on board) from those passengers, who are under the influence of alcohol or any other intoxication, for the duration of the flight; 
  • to take coercive measures towards a person refusing to obey the orders of the aircraft commander; 
  • to offload a person violating the order from the aircraft in the nearest landing place In case of emergency landing caused by the passenger’s unacceptable behavior, the passengers will be required to reimburse extra expenses incurred by Rossiya Airlines; 
  • to hand over such a passenger to law enforcement authorities irrespectively of the landing state; 
  • reimbursement of material damage inflicted to Rossiya Airlines due to the damage of its property by the passenger;
  • to deprive the passenger of their right of further using the air carrier's services and terminating the contract of air carriage without indemnification for its price.

If a contract of passenger air carriage is terminated upon carrier’s initiative based on a passenger violating the rules of behaviour on board and, thus, threatening the flight safety or lives and health of other people, or based on a passenger failing to fulfill aircraft commander’s orders, the amount of money paid for the air carriage will not be compensated to the passenger.

The present «Rules» are established based on and in accordance to international Convention «On offences and certain other acts committed on board aircraft» (signed in Tokyo on 1963) the Air Code of The Russian Federation, civil, administrative and criminal legislation of the Russian Federation, requirements and recommendations of International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and International Aviation Transport AssoCiation (IATA).

The main goal of present rules is to establish requirements to passengers to insure flight safety, improvement of service quality, maintenance of order and prevention of different cases of law violation when flying on Rossiya Airlines’ aircraft.
