In 1997, the City of San Diego included Rose Canyon and Marian Bear Park as preserves for native habitat and wildlife as part of the Multiple Species Conservation Program (MSCP).
We offer free nature walks in Rose Canyon and Marian Bear Park for classes UTK - Grade 12 in 11 nearby schools. We hire skilled guides, and divide into small groups. Kids explore, discover and enjoy nature. We also offer free nature walks for scouts, other groups and the general public.
We welcome volunteers of all ages for our habitat restoration projects. We plant native plants and acorns, then weed and water to restore habitat for native birds, bees, butterflies, and other wildlife. Parents bring their kids. High school and college students and scouts all participate.
Our volunteers plant acorns to restore nativeoak trees to Rose Canyon

Volunteers celebrate after a morning's work on a habitat restoration project.
