DSD downloads

DSD (Direct Stream Digital) is a very elegant technology for describing an analog signal in a digital way. DSD is used for storing the high-resolution sound onSuper Audio CD. DSD can also exist outside of SA-CD: it can be downloaded and, for instance, recorded on a blank DVD to create a 'DSD Disc' that plays onPlayStation 3 (all models), recent SACD players such as theSony SCD-XA5400ES and SCD-XE800, PCs with the proper hardware and software, and dedicatedDSD recorders like Korg's.

There are two 'flavors' of DSD -- DSF, which can be recorded on DVD to make a DSD Disc, and DSDIFF, also known as DFF; a professional format used in studios, playable only on certain PCs and professional DSD hardware.

Unlike SA-CD, DSD music is free from copy protection and DRM.
