LSG appoints Teal Baker as managing director

The agency has also hired Rachel Shell and Dayna Adelman as SVPs.

WASHINGTON: Communications and public affairs firm LSG has appointed Teal Baker as MD, a newly created role at the agency.  

The firm said on Wednesday in a statement that Baker’s addition to its senior leadership team boosts its integrated public affairs, strategic communications and brand building capabilities to meet clients’ needs. 

Based in LSG’s headquarters in Washington, DC, Baker oversees the agency’s nationwide team of more than 50. She reports to founding partner and CEO David Barnhart. 

LSG has also hired Rachel Shell and Dayna Adelman as SVPs.

Shell, based in Portland, Oregon, extends LSG’s presence in the West. She has added expertise in consumer brand building across industries including travel, CPG, fast-casual restaurants, beauty and skincare, health and wellness, spirits and consumer lifestyle, the agency said in a statement.

Adelman will work to grow LSG’s corporate affairs and communications offerings with expertise spanning corporate comms, brand PR, crisis communications, change management, public affairs and sustainable development, according to the firm. She is based in New York.

Baker, Shell and Adelman started in their roles at the end of February. 

The trio joined a total of 10 senior leadership appointments made by LSG over the course of the last year, including Stephanie Waites and Britt Jordan, who joined as SVPs at the end of 2024.

The agency also addedJackeline Stewart-Hawkins to lead its culture and society practice in September as well as former Heineken comms leadTara Rush as partner and chief communications and brand officer and Brendan Daley as chief of staff last April. 

Baker joined LSG from healthcare nonprofit Better Medicare Alliance, where she was COO, working across policy, government affairs, communications and operations. Prior to that, she spent almost 11 years in leadership roles at government relations and communications firm Invariant, where she expanded the company’s workforce and drove 600% revenue growth, according to LSG.

Shell served as an SVP of integrated brand at Edelman. Earlier in her career, she held roles as global communications lead at Plenty of Fish and VP, group manager and Los Angeles office lead at Access Brand Communications.

Adelman arrived at LSG after 10 years at The Heineken Company, where she held leadership roles in the U.S., Europe and Asia, most recently as head of corporate affairs for Multi Bintang Indonesia.
