Ceremony Annually

The Dr. Prem Reddy Family Foundation, founded by Dr. Prem Reddy and his family, has donated millions in support of health education, college scholarships, public healthcare education, and free community clinics. On a global level, the foundation supports Samaritan’s Purse by donating equipment used in clinics in poverty-stricken regions around the world. The foundation also funds clean water initiatives, childhood vaccination programs, educational grants, new medical clinics, and medical missions to treat blindness with free cataract removal surgeries or pediatric congenital heart defects.

Samaritan's Purse Medical Mission

The Foundation is pleased to provide support for hospitals in the developing world by donating medical equipment and supplies.

Dr. Prem Reddy Nursing Laboratory

The Foundation supports the nursing lab by helping the department upgrade its equipment, including 30 computer stations, a 10-bed lab and advanced simulation technology and mannequins.

California University of Science and Medicine

We are pleased to support the development of a non-profit medical school in San Bernadino County, California.

    Scholarship Program

    Founded in 1989 by healthcare visionary Dr. Prem Reddy and family, the foundation has donated millions of dollars to various charities supporting health education, college scholarships, public healthcare education, and free community clinics. To date, the foundation has awarded more than $1.8 million in academic scholarships to High Desert residents.

    The scholarship program was created to reward students who have achieved academic excellence while being involved in school and community services.     To address the significant need for healthcare professionals and physicians in the Inland Empire, Dr. Reddy’s commitment to education was furthered by his vision to found the California University of Science and Medicine in 2018, one of our nation’s newest medical schools located in San Bernardino County, California.

    Dr. Prem Reddy Family Foundation Awards Scholarships to 88 Students Pursuing Careers in Healthcare

    More than 850 students have received more than $1.8 million in scholarships from the Foundation since inception

    (VICTORVILLE, Calif. – June 26, 2024) The Dr. Prem Reddy Family Foundation presented its annual scholarship award in the amount of $155,000 to a class of 88 outstanding and diverse High Desert students who are seeking higher education in the health sciences on Thursday in Victorville. To date, the Foundation has awarded more than $1.8 million in academic scholarships. 

    The list of speakers and presenters included:

    • Venkamma Reddy, Co-Founder of the Dr. Prem Reddy Family Foundation 
    • Sunitha Reddy, Executive Director of the Dr. Prem Reddy Family Foundation 
    • Carol Lee, Emergency Medicine Vice Chair and Emergency Medicine Residency Program Director at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center
    • Emily Mazurek and Klaudia Schoffstall, 2024 Dr. Prem Reddy Family Foundation Scholarship recipients
    • Elizabeth Becerra, Mayor, Victorville
    • Representatives and citations from the offices of U.S. Congressman Jay Obernolte, State Senator Scott Wilk, and Assemblyman Tom Lackey
    • Imran Siddiqui, Chief Medical Officer, Desert Valley Hospital and Desert Valley Medical Group

    Tiffany Bogan was recognized as the 2025 student speaker at the Dr. Prem Reddy Family Foundation Scholarship Ceremony. Her story is one of strength and perseverance—born with neonatal abstinence syndrome and placed in foster care, she overcame childhood trauma, displacement from Hurricane Katrina, and personal loss. Now working as a medical assistant at Desert Valley Hospital, Tiffany is pursuing her dream of becoming a physician. Her journey reflects resilience, compassion, and a deep commitment to helping others through healthcare.

    “I’m not here because everything went right—I’m here because I never gave up,” Bogan said. “I’ve built this future from the ground up, and I plan to use it to serve others as a doctor, shaped by struggle and led by love.”Read the press release.

    SistersEmily Mazurek andKlaudia Schoffstall(pictured right), both first-generation immigrants from Poland and residents of the High Desert, have been recognized as well-deserving scholarship recipients and keynote speakers in 2024. They also work at Desert Valley Hospital, where their dedication and resilience have been evident. Despite facing the tragic loss of their mother to COVID-19, Emily and Klaudia have channeled their grief into a powerful drive to succeed and make a positive impact in their careers.

    “Working in healthcare is so much more than just a job. I believe it really takes a special person to be there in some of the toughest moments, and provide a caring touch, exceptional care, as well as being a patient advocate,” said Schoffstall.Read the press release.

    Nabil Assal (pictured left) was among the list of well-deserving scholarship recipients in 2020 and the keynote speaker. An immigrant from Morocco, Nabil, grew up in poverty with no electricity or running water. As a small child, his job was to take a wheelbarrow full of buckets to the town tap to fill them with water. Nabil has faced and overcome many challenges in his life through persistence and determination. He moved to the United States, where he attended a community college, and in 2018 

    Nabil was accepted to UC Riverside, where he will graduate with a B.S. degree in Neuroscience. Ultimately, Nabil would like to be a neurosurgeon and volunteer with organizations such as Doctors Without Borders. “I am an example of someone who was never expected to amount to anything, but through hard work, I am the first person in my family to go to college,” said Nabil.Read the press release.

    Sreynich “Nikki” In (pictured right) was among the list of well-deserving scholarship recipients in 2019 and the keynote speaker. Nikki immigrated to America from Cambodia in 2005 with her mother after tragically losing her father, and then recently lost her stepfather unexpectedly. Despite challenges and hardship, Nikki graduated from Apple Valley High School and plans to enter the nursing program at Grand Canyon University. Ultimately, Nikki wants to study at Loma Linda University School of Medicine to pursue a career as a Nurse Practitioner.

    “Dreams are not meant to just be dreams, they’re meant to be lived,” said Nikki who credits her mother, family, and friends for inspiring her to be where she is today.Read the press release.
